Thank you, Waxhaw Walmart!

The Union County UCCA Head Start and Early Head Start programs received an unexpected donation of school supplies from the Walmart Neighborhood Market on 2520 Cuthbertson Road in Waxhaw, NC. Walmart typically selects a local public school as the recipient of its annual school supply donation; however, this year, Yanir DeJesus Medina nominated UCCA to receive the donation. As a former UCCA employee, Ms. Medina was able to share how the services provided by UCCA through the Head Start and Early Head Start programs help local low-income families, and as a result, UCCA was selected as the donation recipient.

UCCA Case Managers, Brittany Adams and Rachel Marsh, received the donation from the Waxhaw Walmart on behalf of UCCA and distributed them to the UCCA teachers, Case Managers, and Home Visitors at the Winchester Center in Monroe to be given to the families of children enrolled in the Head Start and Early Head Start programs.
